Welcome to the Wellness Centre

The Bridge Cottage Wellness Centre is dedicated to better health, naturally.

Health
"A state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease".
Wellness can be viewed as the embodiment of all these aspects of health. Taking responsibility for your personal health, living in accordance with all the natural laws which maintain our well-being is to achieve a state of ‘wellness’.

Wellness
All living things adapt to their environment, they ‘self-regulate’.  All the processes within the human body (its physiology) constantly change to maintain the optimal state of function called “homeostasis”. Wellness is when all these systems are working harmoniously with maximum efficiency.

Natural Health Care
Therapists who are trained and qualified in natural health care techniques aim to improve health by correcting problems with the body’s own wellness mechanisms.  The techniques are usually directed at correcting and repairing the body or mind where damage has occurred and adjusting your life-style approach to help restore health and direct you towards full wellbeing for the future.

Bridge Cottage Wellness Centre
Bridge Cottage Wellness Centre opened in March 2010 to provide a multidisciplinary approach to “wellness”, accessible by the University of Buckingham community and local residents.  Our team of independent practitioners is working towards providing integrated wellness plans designed to meet the specific needs of the whole person on a structural, biochemical and emotional level.

Bridge Cottage Wellness Centre also provides a focus for the University of Buckingham's “Healthy Campus Initiative”, its objectives being to increase awareness and knowledge of health-related issues, provide access to resources, and to support students and staff in making behavioural changes prerequisite to living a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle.

The centre actively maintains a network of external practitioners to whom personal referrals can be made when necessary.
